Is Quarry free?
Yes. Free to download and use, and open source under the AGPL-3.0.
How is Quarry different from TablePlus, DBeaver or Beekeeper Studio?
Quarry is free and open source, and Linux is a first-class platform next to macOS. It needs no Java like DBeaver and ships no Chromium like Electron apps: it uses the system web view and a Rust core. It supports fewer databases today: MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
Is there a Windows version?
Not yet. Quarry runs on Linux and macOS today.
Can Quarry replace Azure Data Studio for SQL Server on Mac or Linux?
For everyday work, yes: connect, browse, run queries, edit data and change schemas on SQL Server from macOS or Linux. Microsoft retired Azure Data Studio in February 2026, and SQL Server Management Studio runs only on Windows.
Does Quarry send my data anywhere?
No. Connections, queries and data stay on your machine, and passwords live in the system keyring. Quarry only talks to GitHub to check for updates and download drivers.
Is it safe to use on production?
Mark the connection as production and every write asks for confirmation first, or make it read-only. The check runs in Quarry's core, so no way of running a statement skips it.
macOS says Quarry is damaged or cannot be opened.
The build is not notarized yet. Right-click the app and choose Open, or run xattr -cr /Applications/Quarry.app once.
